This Privacy Policy applies when you use our Services. We offer you choices about the data we collect, use, and share. “Designated Countries” refers to countries in the EU, EEA, and Switzerland. This Policy applies to xquic.com and other x·quic-related sites, apps, communications, and services (“Services”), whether you are a Member or a Visitor.
x·quic (“we” or “us”) may modify this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through our Services or by other means before they become effective. Your continued use of our Services after the effective date means the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data is subject to the updated Policy.
You provide data to create an account, including your name, email address and/or mobile number, and a password. For premium Services, you provide payment and billing information.
You have choices about profile information such as education, work experience, skills, photo, and location. It is your choice whether to include personal or sensitive information and to make it public. Please do not add personal data to your profile that you would not want publicly available. You may also give us data by syncing your address book, contacts, or calendar.
We collect personal data when you provide, post, or upload it, for example, when you fill out a form, respond to a survey, contact a seller, submit a resume, or apply for a job. If you import your address book or sync contacts/calendars, we collect that information to suggest connections and provide event information.
Others may post or write about you, and may sync their contacts or calendars with our Services, through which we may receive contact information about you. We may receive data (such as job title and work email) when you use the services of our customers and partners, and when you use other services provided by us or our affiliates.
We log your visits and use of our Services, including via log-ins, cookies, device information, and IP addresses. We collect data through cookies and similar technologies (e.g., pixels and ad tags) to recognize you and your devices. We receive data from your devices and networks, including the URLs you came from and go to, network and device information, and, with your opt-in, precise location.
We collect information when you send, receive, or engage with messages, and use automatic scanning to support and protect the site. When an employer purchases a premium Service for you, they provide data about your eligibility. We receive data when you visit sites that include our ads, cookies, or plugins, or log in to others’ services with your x·quic account. As we introduce new features, we may collect new information and, where material, will notify you.
We use your data to provide, support, personalize, and develop our Services. How we use it depends on which Services you use and your settings. We use data, including with automated systems and inferences, to make our Services and ads more relevant. This includes helping you connect with others, staying informed (2.1), exploring careers (2.2), productivity and scheduling (2.3), advertising (2.4–2.6), marketing (2.7), research and development (2.8), surveys (2.9), customer support (2.10), de-identified insights (2.11), and security and investigations (2.12).
We serve tailored ads on and off our Services and offer choices regarding personalized ads, though you cannot opt out of seeing all ads. We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers or ad networks except: (i) hashed IDs or device identifiers; (ii) with your separate permission; or (iii) data already visible to users of the Services.
Information on your profile and content you post or social actions you take are visible to others consistent with your settings (3.1). You may link your account with others’ services (3.2). We share data across our Services and affiliated entities (3.3) and with service providers who help us operate (3.4). We may disclose data when required by law or to protect rights and safety (3.5), and as part of a sale, merger, or change in control, in which case it must continue to be used in accordance with this Policy (3.6).
We implement safeguards such as HTTPS and monitor our systems for vulnerabilities, but cannot warrant the security of information you send us.
We process data inside and outside the United States and rely on legally provided mechanisms to transfer data across borders. Other countries’ laws may differ from, and be less protective than, your own.
We collect and process personal data only where we have lawful bases, including consent, contract, and legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time in settings; where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object.
We do not currently share personal data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your permission. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties except aggregators and providers of the text-message services.
We generally retain your personal data as long as your account is open or as needed to provide Services, and may retain certain information in de-personalized or aggregated form.
You can delete data, change or correct data, object to or restrict use of data, and request access to or a copy of your personal data. Residents in the Designated Countries and other regions may have additional rights.
If you close your account, your personal data generally stops being visible to others within 24 hours, and we generally delete closed-account information within 30 days, except where retention is necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. Information you shared with others may remain visible after closure.
If you have questions or complaints, please contact us online. You can also reach us by physical mail at x·quic, 10907 Valley Forge Circle, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Residents in the Designated Countries and other regions may also have the right to contact our Data Protection Officer.
Under the CCPA, California residents have rights regarding the collection, use, and sharing of their personal information. x·quic does not sell your personal information and will not do so in the future without notice and an opportunity to opt out. We do not offer financial incentives for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information. California residents may request to know what personal information has been collected, access it, and request deletion (subject to exceptions). To submit a request, contact support[at]xquic[dot]com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Separately, California’s “Shine the Light” law gives residents the right to ask what personal information we share with third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not disclose your personal information for that purpose unless you request it.
Nevada law (SB 220) requires a way for Nevada consumers to opt out of the sale of certain information. x·quic does not sell your personal information as defined in Nevada law and will not do so in the future without notice and an opportunity to opt out.
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to request portability. If we processed your information with your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the “unsubscribe” link or your account settings. Personal information may be transferred, processed, and stored outside the EEA or Switzerland, including in the United States, with appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
